denim shirts

...Monday my big sister, brother and i took some photos for our ASOS marketplace site Reddyroad...usually we use my long legged, long haired, nice hips niece Pollyanna...but now she's heading back to college she's becoming less and less available...so quite reluctantly i did it...pretty hungover...we took some snaps of our latest creations...my favourite are the denim shirts that we've customised with denim love hearts from unwanted jeans...such a simple idea but it really changes the whole denim shirt look...what with everyone wearing them, it's nice to have something a little different...we put one on our site a couple of weeks ago and it was snapped up within a hour of it being published...if you like what you see you can pur-chase https://marketplace.asos.com/listing/shirts/customised-love-heart-denim-shirt/157437 i'm putting them on there as i type!

2 table cloths

...table clothes that come in beautiful prints are great to modify...take these two cloths for example...with skill they have both been made into another living garment...circle table cloths make ideal circle skirts...the skirt above we've made comes with belt loops and jersey love heart pockets...whilst the poncho style top will be great to thrown on over a little tee this winter...we just can't leave beautiful printed fabric unwanted can we...

This old thang?

...my sister is a very creative soul, that's who I work with to make our creations...she stands proud, feet apart, hands on hips, head thrown back and she laughs in the face of unwanted fabric..."you won't defeat me" she says "i know exactly what i'm going to do we you!" she says...and within a few hours that unwanted bed sheet has been transformed into a beautiful dress...that won't turn back at midnight (whahey lil joke for you there)...below are some images of one of our many creations...this in particular is one of my favourite...LOVE the spots and zig-zag patterns used together in a mix match way...and LOVE the look on people's faces when once they've commented on what  a lovely dress you're wearing you reply  "Why it's a couple of unwanted bed sheets i just put together"...recycling is cool!

...in 2007 i saved up and went to Australia for 3 months...one of the best things that Australia had to offer me was Frankie magazine...although you can get it in the U.K...it is somewhat difficult to get your hands on, what with the closing of good old borders and all...so my sister and i follow their blog...http://www.frankie.com.au/  ...it never fails to cheer me up...

Muff & Bags

we find it extremely painful to resist the temptation of purchasing a beautiful print or fabric for a very reasonable price and 9 times out of 10 we find a perfect purpose for this newly purchases piece...a lot of the times the fabric screams something out to us...there have been a many of times I have been pottering about a second hand shop and i hear "shoulder bag" or "mid length circle skirt" from the depth of a bargain bin and so we make their dreams come true...here are some pieces we've recently made...

Add a LoveHeart Babez

incase you're wondering the pretty girl with the crimped hair in the pics is Xena's daughter Pollyanna, so my niece...and the lil beaut is wearing some of our customised creations...both decorated with love hearts around the hem...the rain mac was trimmed down to a more practical length and blessed with leatherette hearts...whilst the yellow smock dress was given a little love from hearts cut out from an unwanted brown skirt...both items now look much more appealing and have both been sold on our ASOS marketplace...but we will have more to come promiiiiiisssseee!

"Yes I am wearing a pillowcase"

my sister and i make and sell clothes...although we have been doing this for a rather long time this mainly started on ASOS Marketplace.com and we have been rather successful in selling vintage pieces of clothing and our own creations...one piece that i have just published on the site is this one of  kind floral print dress made entirely out of 3 pillowcases...sometimes i do like to 'try before i sell' to get feedback on one of our creations and so in this case (I should I say in this pillowcase, a lil joke for you there) I wore this number to a wee BBQ at my boyfriend's dad's house to see if it went down well with the fam...and it did, not only did people comment on how pretty is was before i told them the tale behind it but the whole 'i'm so down to earth i wear pillowcases' is great when meeting people for the first time...but of course you do need to cut, change and sew...we don't want people squeezing into a pillowcase just as it is...might be a wee bit revealing and perhaps strange...
